It is often said that a place is only as good as its Sunday Lunch and we are confident you will have to go a long way to find a better Sunday lunch than the Half Moon!
Beautifully fresh roasted joints of pork (with crispy crackling) and succulent sirloin beef (sourced from Wold Select butchers, less than a mile from the pub), along with locally sourced lamb are roasted in our own kitchen every Sunday morning.
The Half Moon gives the ‘medley of boiled veg’ a wide berth, our chef prepares a varied range of beautifully prepared accompaniments depending on the season, for example, peppered swede and carrot mashed with butter and amaranth leaves, asparagus wrapped in Parma ham, braised red cabbage with apple, or cheesy leeks with red onion, perhaps add to this delicious cauliflower and broccoli cheese with of course golden roasted parsnips and potatoes, and you have a Sunday lunch to truly relish. Lunches are served with jugs of gravy, as we know how ‘individual’ the gravy pouring preference can be, and not forgetting the homemade fresh Yorkshire puds!
Our great range of starters are also available and if you have room, our seasonal desserts!
Sunday lunch is served between 12 noon and 6.00pm.
